Our Manufacturers utilize wood waste for many things. Millions of dollars were invested in machinery and engineering so wood waste could be burned in a combustor to heat the production area in winter or to make pellets for wood stoves.
Any excess that's not used is repurposed for agriculture.
All engineered panel material and plywood utilized meets or exceeds CARB2 compliance. The CARB2 Air Toxic Control Measure establishes the most stringent formaldehyde emission limits on wood products in North America.
A breath of fresh thinking comes in the form of PureBond® manufactured by "Columbia Forest Products". PureBond® is an innovation that replaces traditional urea-formaldehyde hardwood plywood construction with a new, environmentally safe, soy based adhesive.

Crestwood currently consists of a 300,000 square foot state of the art production facility, which accommodates almost 200 skilled employees, creating one of the country’s most modern woodworking facilities. Crestwood's 5 Star Evolution Finish
Crestwood’s 5-Star Evolution Finish is a two-part Italian high performance Polyurethane coating. What does that mean? Crestwood’s finish is a 2-component system, similar to epoxy, in which the polyurethane resins chemically cross-link with a hardener resin to form very strong and cohesive bonds. As such, 2-component polyurethanes dry much faster and are more chemical and moisture resistant than the typical conversion varnish used by other Manufacturers.
The 5-Star Evolution Finish offer these 5 qualities:
- Superior mar, water, solvent and household chemical resistance (see illustrations below).
- Formaldehyde-free
- Low in HAP’s and VOCs
- Meets or exceeds all Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturing performance standards
- More flexible to show less cracking from wood expansion and contraction
According to the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI), Crestwood’s 5-Star evolution finish is more wear, heat, solvent, moisture and stain resistant then the typical conversion varnish used on job-site finishes.
